That is insane.  This was NOT the purpose of the registry when it was originated.  Now that sexting has become popular among our teens, expect that number to rise even faster.  What has this Nation become when we have one of the highest numbers of prisoners of all the countries of the world?  When we have statistics like one out of 100 people in the US is in prison or on probation or parole, or has been?

It tells me that what we are doing is not working!  We have taken proven effective programs out of prisons because of funding issues, yet we pay for their probation and for the crimes most types of offenders commit over and over again.  Prison costs us about $40.00 a day per person.  Civil Commitment in Florida is about $52,000 a year per person for a program where few get out.
